Primary Tasks & Responsabilities

Category Management
• Develop and deliver category strategy using insights-driven in store merchandising activities to enhance the shopper experience and satisfy the needs of targeted shoppers driving sales value & profit growth for category health.
• To acquire and develop a deep understanding of shoppers, their behaviour and shopping attitudes towards the retail channels. Understand and align with key retailer strategies ensuring a win-win solution
• To develop and integrate retailer, consumer, shopper and category data into a selling story to produce profitable business results.
• Contribute as a key stakeholder to the customer teams with category knowledge and advice. Lead discussions with key customers on their category strategy, drive change and significantly improve shopper engagement at the point of purchase.
Commercial Strategy and sales effectiveness
• Work with the sales team to translate brand plans, retail knowledge, shopper and customer insights into commercial plans at channel level to drive sales within given financial parameters.
• Defines investment strategy across channels and customers in collaboration with field sales managers, Deliver improvements in sales, market share & distribution across customers of responsibility.
• Translates data into insights for the different channels by analysing the relevant information (Performance KPI’s, Distribution, Stocks, Sell in, Sell out).
• Drives continuous channel and customer understanding and segmentation to maximise reach and resources effectiveness
• Supports the identification and development of strategic alliances with customers.
Sales team capabilities enhancement and Excellence in execution
• Ensure the excellence in execution of shopper marketing plan consistent with Promotional plan and Visibility plan across channels and monitors effectiveness (main KPI’s: Share of Promo, Share of Shelf, Share of Display…). To supervise POS managers work and execution.
• Drive sales team culture and capabilities of in-depth customer understanding leading to excellence in execution, including NPD launches and launch preparation. This includes training development and implementation. Develop and drive adoption of leading edge tools, processes and approaches across the function, driving consistent and leading edge application and execution.

• Experience of working in a commercial organization (sales analyst, commercial sales, …)
• Good project management skills
• Strategic thinking in combination with business understanding and sound judgement
• Strong analytical skills with focus on execution excellence
• Experience with target setting and KPI development
• Preferably experience of working with a Sales Force Automation tool
• Proactive individual, enjoy working independently and convince with your strong teamwork and cooperation skills
• Knowledge/awareness of the Belgian commercial environment specifically in OTC/Pharmacy
• Preferably a Dutch/French speaking person and able to write and speak in English
